Spiritual and Urban Visions - The Art of Michael Jessing

Michael Jessing has been working on a complete illustrated Book of Psalms since 1997. They have been exhibited yearly at the Bookcase, in Carlisle. This is a one-off edition to be completed in 2001.
For the artist the psalms represent poems of love or despair directed to the Creator. The image at the right is from Ps. 115, "They have eyes but they do not see." The psalms are done in ink and measure 8x12" with text alongside. Reproductions are available

Jessing's urban allegories have been exhibited in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, London, Manchester, New York City and Philadelphia. They are based on myths, and experience. Architecture reflects the soul of the inhabitants. For further examples of Jessing's art please e-mail.
